| Instilling a love of art to young people has long been Mary’s primary
vocation, yet she has always managed to find time for painting on canvas
or most anything else capturing her imagination! Since the mid-seventies,
when she began painting frilly underwear to match the dresses of little
girls, Mary has dabbled in a wide variety of creative endeavors.
After moving to Ocala, FL, Mary's creative interests began centering
around her two daughters, Anna Lane and Maggie–including their schools
and interest in horses. The Moore's family farm became an ideal place for
miscellaneous work-
shops, 4-H riding clinics, and art classes in the barn. Mary
also became involved in volunteer projects–painting walls and sets, creating
T-shirts, designing flyers, helping with ceiling tiles at a hospital.
In addition, Mary Moore and Joan Woods (a friend of Mary's) were selected
to paint one of 52 life-sized fiberglass horses used as a fund raiser for
the Marion Cultural Alliance’s “Horse Fever” public art project. Later,
she was instrumental in promoting a Florida license tag to benefit the
Florida Horse Park.
Interior design has always been one of Mary’s interests as well, and
she has painted/stenciled floors and walls in houses and barns along with
other creative artistic pursuits. With a keen eye and amazing attention-to-detail,
Mary is able to take a selected design and hand paint it onto usable items
to complement one's home décor.
Brainstorm with Mary Moore, at your lesiure, to come up with
the ideal accent to make your room special with one-of-a-kind accessorizing.
